'It Starts with a Seed' on 27th April
A Workshop on making Jewellery with Natural Materials
What can you do with a few humble seeds, some wire, and bits of paper? A lot! Create jewellery that you could adorn a princess with.

We warmly invite you to a workshop with Ramawtar on jewellery design and crafting with natural materials.

This workshop is about creating beauty with your own hands and heart. It is about playing... with your imagination, and materials sourced from nature, and feeling the excitement of learning a new skill together, seed by seed.
The Facilitator: Ramawatar Singh has been designing jewellery since 2005. He was first inspired to create jewellery while collecting seeds for farming and herbal gardening. Fascinated with the possibilities – a million kinds of seeds to work with! – Ram began experimenting and creating his own designs. Later, his interest in jungle walks and bird watching made him perceive natural jewellery as a beautiful way to connect with nature.
Ramawtar’s work is inspired by nature. He uses mostly seeds and paper waste, transforming even the most humble materials into little pieces of art. The seeds in his jewellery are collected zealously on his travels across India.
Besides designing jewellery and sharing his skills with friends and community, Ramawtar works with ‘Swapathgami Walkouts Walkon Network’ (see Facebook page), and co-organises various Swapathgami events and workshops on Art & Craft, Self-Healing, Organic farming, Cycle Yatra

Making Natural Soap on 28th of April

We warmly invite you to join us for a workshop with Ramawtar on making
natural/herbal soaps and cosmetic creams with locally available materials.

 Natural Soap
The purpose of soap is to clean our body, but instead we apply harmful chemicals to our skin and pollute the water. There are several natural ways of cleansing, but conditioning hinders us from feeling ‘clean’ until some kind of white foam is rubbed! A few decades ago, there were no soaps, but different kinds of clay, herbs, soap-nut, gram flour, ‘ubtan’, etc. were used.
Let us explore the hidden treasure of ancient wisdom and beauty! We will make natural soap with locally available materials; and have lots of fun playing with the clay and refreshing natural ingredients – to create small, hand-madesculptures, as we don’t use any moulds!
